A healthy eating initiative to educate children about the farm-to-plate story, which has the backing of Pink Lady®, has been honoured with a special award from the Prime Minister.

Max MacGillivray, who masterminded The Great Fruit Adventure – a 10,000 mile journey from London to South Africa to raise awareness about where fresh produce comes from – has been honoured by No. 10 with a Points of Light Award. The award recognises Max’s outstanding voluntary effort to encourage healthy eating among children.

Prime Minister Theresa May said: “Through The Great Fruit Adventure you are inspiring thousands of children to learn about the benefits of fresh fruit and vegetables, helping them to develop healthier attitudes to eating.”

We are delighted that Max has been honoured with this award. A high profile endorsement from the Prime Minister underlines the importance of what Max is doing and we are very proud to have played a part in the initiative through our sponsorship for the trip.

Well done Max!
