Pink Lady® is sharing the WOW across the UK with a pledge to donate 300,000 apples to FareShare, in a tie-in with its family-friendly PinKids® apples.

To support FareShare, the UK’s biggest charity fighting hunger and food waste, there’ll be thousands of stickered packs of PinKids® apples in Aldi, Ocado, B&M, Heron Foods and Farmfoods outlets across the UK. We’ll be inviting consumers to ‘Share the Wow’ in support of the charity. The promotion will be available from the end of August for six weeks . PinKids® are the smaller but still just as tasty Pink Lady® apples, which are the ideal size for little hands and school lunchboxes. They really are the perfect healthy snack for kids.

The distribution of the donated apples has been facilitated by Pink Lady® supplier, Fruitways. The apples will be sent to FareShare depots nationwide, which will then be redistributed to charitable organisations and community groups across their region.

Adèle Fash, Commercial Produce Manager at FareShare, said: “Nutritious fresh produce is so important for the families and individuals our charities support, especially at a time when the rising cost of living is causing so many to struggle to provide meals for their families. Pink Lady® has been a regular supporter of FareShare and it’s great to be able to rely on these PinKids® apples which will come at a key time with the school holidays.”

Lynn Shaw, Marketing Manager at Pink Lady® UK said: “Our on-going support of FareShare has become one of the pillars of our Pink Lady® Cares initiative and we’re proud to collaborate with the charity to help provide fresh produce for families in need in the UK. The excellent work FareShare does distributing fresh produce is vital for families across the country who are struggling to buy the food they need. We’d like to give a special thanks to Fruitways who have been pivotal in making this donation possible.”
