We are thrilled to announce that Phil Lacey will be joining the Pink Lady® team to run the Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday 23rd April. Phil was handpicked by the Pink Lady® team when we ran a competition to give away a place in the marathon to one lucky runner.

To raise money for Action Against Hunger, Phil will be completing his first ever marathon in the infamous Pink Lady® apple costume.

He said: “Having competed in a couple of triathlon events before, I know how important training is to being successful on race day. So to prepare for the 26.2 miles, I have been going on runs of varying distances to improve my stamina, as well as some shorter test runs in the Pink Lady® costume!

“I recently attended a training session with Pink Lady® and bloggers Veggie Runners which was great fun but also really informative. Jayne and Bibi are both very experienced when it comes to marathons so they gave me lots of useful tips for race day – everything from nutrition before, during and after the race to how to manage my pace and ensure I maintain a positive mental attitude during the race.

“I’m really looking forward to taking part - it is sure to be an unforgettable experience, especially running as a giant apple!’’

We’ll be cheering on Phil in London, and can’t wait to see him and the rest of the Pink Lady® runners cross the finish line come April 23rd.
