Following a record number of entries, we are very excited to announce the shortlist for this year’s Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year Awards, a catalogue full of exceptional shots depicting every aspect of the world of food.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year Awards and has also seen the awards break a record, receiving more than 10,000 entries for the first time in its history. The shortlist once again takes us on a globe-trotting journey, with entries spanning from Australia to Israel and the U.K to the U.S.A, showcasing eye-catching and evocative images depicting the universal language of food.

The creative juices have also been flowing on Instagram this year for our Pink Lady® Snaps competition, with budding photographers from across the world submitting more than 1,200 of their most grammable foodie pics in February – our highest number of monthly Snaps entries yet.

We are proud to be the headline sponsor of the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year Awards for the tenth year in a row, showcasing talent in the world of food photography and moving image. In its ten-year history, the awards have received over 70,000 entries from over 80 countries across the globe, with the photographer who captured last year’s overall winning image hailing from Bangladesh.

New for this year is The Claire Aho Award for Women Photographers – dedicated to the memory of Finland’s greatest female photographer – to encourage and celebrate women photographers. This award will sit alongside the 24 other categories, including our very own Pink Lady® Apple A Day category.

This year’s global judging panel is once again chaired by food photographer David Loftus, who will be joined by Fiona Shields, Head of Photography, Guardian News and Media; Susan Bright, writer and curator; Nik Sharma, Cookbook Author and Photographer; Alison Jacques, Founder, Alison Jacques Gallery; Chef Simone Zanoni, Restaurant Le George, Four Seasons, Paris and Rein Skullerud, Head of Photo Unit, World Food Programme.

The tenth year of the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year Awards will also see the launch of the Ambassadors’ panel which includes chef and global icon of gastronomic art, Ferran Adria, President of elBullifoundation.

The awards will take place online again this year on Tuesday 27th April with a very special guest celebrity presenter soon to be revealed! You can tune in and watch live on the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year Awards YouTube channel.

Art and food lovers will get the chance to see the tenth anniversary exhibition in full at The Royal Photographic Society, one of the world’s oldest photographic societies, at its new gallery space in Bristol later this year from 20th November - 12th December.
