We are thrilled to announce our tenth year as headline sponsor of the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year Awards, the world’s leading celebration of food photography and film.

We are proud to be a part of the prestigious awards which over the past decade have received more than 70,000 amazing entries from over 80 countries across the globe, showcasing the very best in food photography and film. 2021 marks the tenth anniversary of the awards – and what an exciting year we have in store!

An exciting addition to this year’s awards is the launch of a brand new category for the tenth anniversary: the Claire Aho Award. In memory of Claire Aho, 1925-2015, Finland’s greatest female photographer, this award will celebrate women in photography.

Also marking the tenth year is the launch of the Ambassadors’ panel which includes the great chef and global icon of gastronomic art, Ferran Adria, President of elBullifoundation.

Open for entries on Tuesday 14th July, this year’s global judging panel – chaired by legendary food photographer, David Loftus – includes Fiona Shields, Head of Photography, Guardian News & Media; Susan Bright, Writer and Curator; Nik Sharma, Cookbook Author and Photographer; Francis Hodgson, Professor, Culture of Photography; and Rein Skullerud, Head of Photo Unit, World Food Programme.

The awards have seen a consistent stream of incredible entries from across the globe and have told some vital stories in the world of food, food politics and culture, creating valuable opportunities for entrants and category winners.

Last year’s overall winner, K M Asad from Bangladesh, saw his winning photograph featured in the media across the world: from the BBC, the Guardian and The Times to La Stampa, China Daily and MSN.

‘Entering this competition a few years ago totally changed my life and has forged a very successful career for me in food photography.’ says Donna Crous, a 2020 Finalist from the UK, ‘This is THE gold standard for food photographers.’

‘It really is the only photography competition of its kind that truly celebrates the cultural impact of food in all its forms.’ says Lola Akinmade Akerstrom, a 2020 Finalist from Sweden.
