Pink Lady® Spiced Apple Porridge

There’s nothing better on a cold morning than a warming bowl of porridge, and this one only takes 10 minutes to make. This spiced apple porridge recipe puts a delicious spin on a classic breakfast dish – porridge needn’t be bland!

This porridge combines warming spices with Pink Lady® apples for an amazing and healthy start to the day. Pink Lady® apples are beautifully sweet and add a crisp crunch to porridge. Their natural sweetness means you can forego the addition of coconut sugar if you wish.

This recipe also contains mixed seeds for an extra boost – you can buy ready-made mixes or make your own with a combination of pumpkin, sunflower and flax seeds – or whatever you have in your pantry.

Full preparation

  1. Core and chop one of the apples and add to a pan with the milk, oats and spices. Bring to a simmer and cook over a medium heat for 5-7 minutes until the porridge is thick and creamy.

  2. Core and thinly slice the remaining Pink Lady® apple. Mix the nut butter with a little water until you have a smooth dropping consistency.

  3. Spoon the porridge into two bowls and top each with the apple slices, the seeds or nuts, a drizzle of the nut butter and the maple syrup.
