You don’t need a special occasion to buy flowers, they’re a lovely treat for yourself, but sometimes it can be tricky to recreate a professional looking arrangement at home.

Take inspiration from the winning image from the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year Apple a Day category to create a sumptuous bouquet that looks like a painting.

It’s surprisingly easy to get great results, so set aside some ‘me time’ and engage in some therapeutic floral arranging to help you relax and learn a new skill!

Our friends at Moyses Stevens have helped us to create this step-by-step sequence for making the perfect bouquet, ideal for gifting to friends or family, or simply to help create a harmonious environment in your home.

This beautiful bouquet is made using gorgeous pink roses with pretty greens and a Pink Lady® apple to top it all off.

You will need:

  • 1 Pink Lady® apple
  • Scissors
  • Raffia or strong twine
  • Wooden skewer
  • Pink roses (ideally some medium and one large bloom)
  • Ruscus leaf
  • Thlaspi (Pennycress)
  • Pink spray roses

Step 1

Pick up the Pink Lady® apple and pierce a hole with the wooden skewer so it rests firmly inside, set aside

Step 2

Remove any leaves from the bottom of the stems of all flowers and foliage. If you are right handed take the first piece of ruscus in your left hand. Rest the stem in your palm and hold securely in place with your thumb. If you are left handed simply hold the flowers in your right hand.

Step 3

With your dominant hand, take pieces of thlaspi and arrange them by crossing them over the ruscus, with the stems at varying angles to the first stem.
