2021 marks the tenth anniversary of the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year Awards and the tenth year Pink Lady® has been the headline sponsor. The tenth anniversary has undoubtedly been the biggest year yet, with a record number of entries. Over 10,000 submissions from across the globe have been celebrated from both professional and amateur photographers showcasing the universal language of food through film and photography.

This year’s awards took place online for the second year running, with the winners being unveiled on Tuesday 27th April at 8pm via a YouTube live stream. The awards were hosted by Fred Sirieix – the much-loved maître d’hotel, best-known for his appearance on Channel 4’s First Dates – who introduced this year’s spectacular array of captivating images which made the final cut in this year’s award categories.

The overall award went to Chinese photographer Li Huaifeng with his exceptionally poignant winning image ‘Taste’, which depicts a young family still sharing in the joy of preparing food during a year of isolation and living indoors in Licheng, Shanxi in a tiny community of immediate family.

The first prize in the Pink Lady® Apple A Day category went to Natalia Bogubowicz from Poland for her beautiful image Apple in Cake, which showcases our delicious apples delicately arranged in a sweet lattice tart. Judges said her winning image captured the beautiful pink blush of the Pink Lady® apples and emulated its sweet taste and crisp crunch.

Thank you to all those who entered this year’s awards for the tenth anniversary, we hope many other budding photographers out there feel inspired to get snapping and enter the awards next year.
