1. The Competition
The Pink Lady® Find Your Fizz Crochet Competition (the “Competition”) is a skill-based competition in which entrants are invited to use the official Pink Lady® crochet pattern as the starting point for their own creative crochet creation.
The Competition is promoted by Twenty Degrees Limited, 42 Kings Hill Avenue,Kings Hill, Kent, ME19 4AJ (the “Promoter”).
By entering the Competition, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
2. Eligibility
The Competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 or over, except:
- employees of the Promoter or its group companies;
- employees of any agency or organisation directly involved in administering the Competition;
- members of the immediate families or households of those persons; and
- anyone professionally connected with the Competition.
Internet access is required to enter.
The Promoter may request reasonable evidence of eligibility where necessary before confirming a finalist or awarding a prize.
3. Competition Period
The Competition opens on 1 September 2026.
Entries must be submitted by 23:59 UK time on 18 October 2026 (the “Closing Date”).
Entries received after the Closing Date will not be eligible.
The Promoter is not responsible for entries which are lost, delayed, incomplete or not successfully submitted because of a technical fault or other circumstances.
4. How to Enter
To enter, entrants must:
- download the official Pink Lady® crochet pattern;
- create their own physical crochet creation using the official pattern as the recognisable starting point;
- personalise, adapt or embellish their creation as they wish in accordance with these Terms & Conditions;
- take a clear photograph of the finished creation;
- complete the online Competition entry form;
- upload the photograph of the finished creation or, if the upload facility is not working for them, provide an accessible URL linking to the photograph;
- provide the requested information about their creation; and
- confirm that they have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
Where an entrant provides a URL instead of uploading an image, the image must be accessible to the Promoter without requiring a password, account approval or other access permission. Entrants should keep the image accessible until the finalist selection process has been completed.
If the Promoter is unable to access a URL submitted before the Closing Date, it may (but is not required to) make reasonable attempts to contact the entrant and request the image by an alternative method.
There is no entry fee. Entrants are responsible for providing their own crochet materials and for any costs associated with internet access.
5. Multiple Entries
Multiple entries per person are permitted.
Each entry must:
- relate to a separate and genuinely distinct physical crochet creation; and
- be submitted using a separate Competition entry form.
Different photographs of the same physical creation will not constitute separate entries.
An entrant may have a maximum of one entry within the final Top 10 and may win a maximum of one prize.
If more than one creation submitted by the same entrant would otherwise qualify for the Top 10, only that entrant’s highest-scoring creation will progress and the next highest-scoring eligible entry from another entrant will take the available finalist place.
6. The Creative Brief
The official Pink Lady® crochet pattern must form the recognisable starting point for every entry.
Entrants are encouraged to make the pattern their own and may use any yarns, colours, craft materials and embellishments they choose.
Entries may adapt, personalise and embellish the original pattern, provided that the finished creation remains recognisably based on the official Pink Lady® crochet pattern.
The Competition is intended to celebrate creativity, personality and interpretation of the Find Your Fizz theme, rather than technical crochet ability alone.
7. Original Work and Third-Party Rights
Each entry must be the entrant’s own physical crochet creation and substantially made by the entrant themselves.
Entrants may use tutorials, instructions and ordinary assistance to learn crochet techniques, but another person must not make the Competition entry on the entrant’s behalf.
Entries must not incorporate, without appropriate permission:
- third-party trade marks or logos;
- copyrighted characters;
- third-party branding; or
- other material in which the entrant does not have the necessary rights.
Use of Pink Lady® branding and design elements forming part of the official Competition pattern and materials is permitted for the purposes of participating in this Competition.
Entries must not contain material which is unlawful, offensive, discriminatory, defamatory, dangerous or otherwise inappropriate for publication by Pink Lady®.
The Promoter may exclude an entry which it reasonably considers does not comply with this section. The Promoter may require evidence that an entry is the entrant’s own physical crochet creation.
8. Generative AI and Image Editing
The submitted crochet creation must be a genuine physical creation.
Entrants must not use generative artificial intelligence to:
- generate the crochet creation submitted as their entry;
- create a fictional or non-existent crochet creation;
- add, remove or replace material features of the physical creation in the submitted photograph; or
- otherwise materially misrepresent the appearance of the physical creation.
Ordinary photographic adjustments which do not materially change the entry are permitted, including reasonable:
- cropping;
- straightening;
- brightness adjustments;
- contrast adjustments; and
- colour correction.
The Promoter may carry out reasonable authenticity checks before confirming finalists.
The Promoter will not disqualify an entrant solely because an automated AI-detection tool indicates that an image may have been AI-generated.
9. Initial Judging
Following the Closing Date, eligible entries will be assessed by a judging panel.
The panel will include:
- Nicky Moore of Hidden Hive, creator of the official Pink Lady® crochet pattern; and
- at least one competent judge who is demonstrably independent of the Promoter, the administration of the Competition and the pool of entrants.
The full names of the judges will be made available on request.
Each judge will independently score each eligible entry out of 100 against the following criteria:
Judging criterion | Weighting |
Creativity & originality | 40% |
Personality and interpretation of Find Your Fizz | 30% |
Overall visual impact | 20% |
Craftsmanship | 10% |
The individual judges’ scores will be combined to establish an overall judging score for each entry.
The judges will initially score entries independently and will not alter their scoring in response to subsequent public-voting results.
10. Selecting the Provisional Top 10
Eligible entries will be ranked according to their combined judging scores.
The highest-scoring eligible entries will form a provisional Top 10, subject to:
- authenticity verification;
- eligibility verification; and
- the maximum of one finalist place per entrant.
If entries are tied at the point at which the Top 10 is determined, the following tie-break criteria will apply in order:
- higher score for Creativity & Originality;
- higher score for Personality and Interpretation of Find Your Fizz; and
- if still tied, the independent judge will determine the higher-ranked entry by applying the published judging criteria.
A provisional finalist is not confirmed as a Top 10 finalist until the verification process has been successfully completed.
11. Finalist Authenticity Verification
Each provisional Top 10 entrant will be contacted using the email address provided with their entry.
They will be provided with a unique verification code, such as FIZZ-XXXX, and will normally have 72 hours from the time the verification request is sent to provide three new photographs.
The verification code must be handwritten on a physical piece of paper or card and must be physically visible within each requested photograph. It must not be digitally added to the images.
The requested photographs will comprise:
- a photograph showing the entrant holding their physical crochet creation, with the handwritten verification code visible;
- a photograph showing the physical creation from a different angle, with the handwritten verification code visible; and
- a close-up photograph showing crochet stitches and/or embellishment detail, with the handwritten verification code visible.
These photographs are requested solely for verification and will not form part of the judging score.
Verification photographs will not be published or used for marketing without separate permission.
Where an entrant is genuinely unable to appear in a verification photograph, the Promoter may agree a reasonable alternative method of demonstrating possession and authenticity of the physical creation.
If a provisional finalist:
- does not respond within the stated verification period;
- cannot reasonably demonstrate that the physical creation exists and corresponds with the submitted entry;
- is found to be ineligible; or
- is found to have materially breached these Terms & Conditions,
the Promoter may offer the available finalist position to the next highest-scoring eligible entrant.
The Promoter may allow additional time where it reasonably considers that a genuine communication or accessibility issue has occurred.
12. The Top 10 Finalists
Once verification has been completed, the 10 confirmed finalists will be revealed on the Pink Lady® website.
Each finalist will retain their relative judging position based on the judging process described above.
For the final calculation, judging rankings will be converted into points as follows:
- 1st in judging: 10 points
- 2nd: 9 points
- 3rd: 8 points
- continuing in descending order to:
- 10th: 1 point
These points will represent 50% of the final result.
13. Public Voting
Public voting is expected to open on 29 October 2026 and close at 23:59 UK time on 8 November 2026.
The confirmed dates and times will be stated clearly on the voting pages.
Each of the 10 finalists will have a voting facility through which members of the public may support their creation.
A voter may vote for more than one finalist, but may cast only one valid vote per email address for each individual finalist during the voting period.
For example, a voter may cast one vote for Finalist A and one vote for Finalist B, but may not cast two valid votes for Finalist A using the same email address.
Where the same email address submits multiple votes for the same finalist, only the first valid vote will count and subsequent duplicate votes will be disregarded.
Live vote totals will not be displayed.
14. Voting Integrity
Ordinary sharing and asking friends, family or followers to vote is permitted.
The following are prohibited:
- automated or bot-generated voting;
- scripts or other automated voting methods;
- creation or use of fake or artificially generated email accounts for voting;
- purchasing votes;
- paying or otherwise rewarding people specifically in exchange for votes;
- organised vote-exchange or vote-trading schemes;
- manipulation of the voting system; or
- any other method designed artificially to inflate a finalist’s vote total.
The Promoter may investigate unusual voting activity.
Votes may be disregarded where the Promoter has reasonable evidence that they were generated in breach of these Terms & Conditions. If the Promoter has reasonable evidence that a finalist has incited, requested or is otherwise responsible for voting which is breach of these Terms & Conditions the Promoter may disqualify them.
The Promoter will keep an appropriate record of any material vote removals or adjustments or disqualification decisions made when calculating the final result.
15. Public Vote Scoring
After the voting period closes and invalid or duplicate votes have been removed, the Top 10 finalists will be ranked according to their number of valid public votes.
Public-vote rankings will be converted into points as follows:
- highest valid public vote total: 10 points
- second highest: 9 points
- third highest: 8 points
- continuing in descending order to:
- tenth highest: 1 point
These points will represent 50% of the final result.
If two or more finalists receive exactly the same number of valid public votes, they will receive the same points for the tied position and the subsequent ranking position(s) will be skipped as appropriate.
For example, if two finalists tie for second place in the public vote, each will receive 9 public-vote points and the next-ranked finalist will receive 7 points.
16. Determining the Winners
Each finalist’s:
judging points + public-vote points
will be added together to produce their final Competition score.
The finalist with the highest combined score will be the overall winner.
The entrants with the second and third highest combined scores will be the two runners-up.
If two or more finalists have the same final combined score, the finalist with the higher original judging ranking will be placed higher.
The judging scores will be completed and locked before public voting begins and will not be amended in response to the public vote.
17. Prizes
There are three prizes:
Overall Winner
One £1,000 Liberty E-Gift Card
Two Runners-Up
One £250 Liberty E-Gift Card each
The total value of the prizes is £1,500.
Ten Finalists
Each of the 10 confirmed finalists will receive one Pink Lady® finalist goodie bag, containing:
- 1 x Pink Lady® shopper;
- 1 x Pink Lady® water bottle; and
- 1 x Pink Lady® apple badge.
Liberty E-Gift Cards are subject to Liberty’s applicable gift-card terms and conditions, including any expiry period, redemption restrictions and exclusions in force at the time the cards are purchased.
The prizes:
- are non-transferable;
- cannot be exchanged by the Promoter for cash; and
- may not be substituted by the winner for another prize.
If circumstances outside the Promoter’s reasonable control make a stated prize unavailable, the Promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value, provided that doing so does not materially disadvantage the winner.
Liberty is not the sponsor, promoter or administrator of this Competition and is not otherwise associated with it or its administration and has no responsibility or liability in relation to it unless expressly stated.
18. Winner Notification
The overall winner and runners-up are expected to be determined following completion of vote validation and the final scoring calculation.
The three prize winners will be contacted using the email addresses submitted with their Competition entries.
Each winner will have 7 calendar days from the date the winner-notification email is sent to respond and confirm acceptance of their prize.
The Promoter will make reasonable attempts to contact each winner, including sending at least one reminder where appropriate.
If a winner does not respond within 7 calendar days despite reasonable attempts to contact them, or is subsequently found to be ineligible, the Promoter may offer the relevant prize to the next highest-placed eligible finalist according to the final Competition ranking.
No new judging or public voting will take place solely because a prize needs to be reallocated.
The Promoter intends to issue the prizes promptly following confirmation of the winners and aims to complete prize fulfilment before 1 December 2026.
19. Publication of Finalists and Winners
Entrants acknowledge that participation in the Top 10 public-voting stage necessarily requires the Promoter to display information about the finalists and their submitted creations.
If selected as a confirmed Top 10 finalist, the Promoter may publish:
- the entrant’s first name;
- an appropriate general location such as county or region; and
- the photograph of the finalist’s submitted crochet creation,
for the purposes of administering and promoting the finalist stage and public vote.
Following completion of the Competition, the Promoter will make available information demonstrating that valid awards took place, which may ordinarily include the surname and county of the major prize winners and their winning entries. This can be requested by contacting the Promoter at info@pinkladyapples.com.
Entrants may object to the publication of their personal information in relation to voting, or request that the amount of personal information published or made available is reduced by contacting the Promoter.
Where such a request is made, the Promoter may nevertheless provide the relevant winner information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority if required to demonstrate that a valid award took place.
20. Competition Content and Intellectual Property
Entrants retain ownership of copyright and other intellectual-property rights they hold in their original submitted photographs and original creative elements of their entries.
By entering, each entrant grants the Promoter and Pink Lady® a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce, display, publish and communicate their submitted Competition photograph and entry content for the purposes of:
- administering and judging the Competition;
- verifying Competition entries;
- displaying and administering the Top 10 public vote;
- announcing and celebrating finalists and winners;
- reporting on the Competition;
- publishing Competition-related content on Pink Lady® websites, social-media channels and newsletters; and
- maintaining an archive of the Competition and its results.
This licence does not transfer ownership of the entrant’s copyright to the Promoter.
Entrants confirm that they took the submitted photograph themselves or otherwise have the necessary permission from the photographer to submit it and grant the rights described above.
The licence does not give the Promoter an unrestricted right to use entrants’ creations or photographs for unrelated advertising campaigns.
Any additional use of an entrant’s name, personal photograph, interview, quotation, video or other personal contribution for broader promotional activity will be agreed separately where appropriate.
21. Personal Data
Personal data supplied in connection with the Competition will be used for purposes including:
- administering entries;
- communicating with entrants;
- checking eligibility;
- judging and finalist verification;
- administering and validating public voting;
- contacting and fulfilling prizes to winners;
- dealing with queries or complaints; and
- demonstrating that the Competition was administered fairly.
The Promoter may share personal data with service providers and independent judges where reasonably necessary to administer the Competition. Limited data regarding finalists may also be shared as part of public voting, as set out above.
Competition entry and voting data will not automatically be used to subscribe entrants or voters to marketing communications.
Any marketing consent offered in connection with the Competition will be separate and optional.
Personal data will not be retained for longer than two years for the purposes for which it was collected, subject to any legal, regulatory or legitimate record-keeping requirements.
Submitted crochet photographs and other Competition content may be retained and used in accordance with the content licence in section 20, independently of the retention period applying to the entrant database, provided that any continuing processing of personal data remains lawful.
Further information about the handling of personal information is available in the applicable privacy notice: [INSERT PRIVACY NOTICE LINK].
22. Fair Administration and Disqualification
The Promoter will administer the Competition fairly and in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
The Promoter may reject an entry or disregard a vote where it has reasonable grounds to believe that:
- the entrant or voter has materially breached these Terms & Conditions;
- the entry is not genuine;
- the entrant is not eligible;
- the entry materially misrepresents the physical creation;
- prohibited generative AI has been used;
- voting has been manipulated; or
- the participant has interfered with the fair administration of the Competition.
The Promoter may request reasonable information or evidence necessary to investigate suspected breaches.
Disqualification will not be based solely on unsupported suspicion or the output of an automated AI-detection tool.
Where reasonably practicable, the Promoter will consider relevant evidence supplied by an affected participant before making a final decision.
23. Liability, Technical Problems and Events Outside the Promoter’s Control
The Promoter will take reasonable steps to ensure that the Competition operates as described.
If a technical failure or circumstance outside the Promoter’s reasonable control materially affects the Competition, the Promoter may take such reasonable action as is necessary to restore fair administration.
The Promoter will not cancel, suspend or materially change the Competition merely because doing so would be commercially convenient.
Any material change will only be made where reasonably necessary because of circumstances outside the Promoter’s control and will, so far as reasonably practicable:
- preserve the fairness of the Competition;
- avoid disadvantaging participants; and
- be communicated clearly to affected participants.
Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability in relation to taking up the prize or your entry or the Competition in any way (including its administration). Your statutory rights are not affected. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
24. Decisions and Records
The Promoter will retain appropriate records of the administration of the Competition, including relevant:
- judging scores;
- finalist verification;
- vote validation;
- duplicate-vote removal;
- final scoring; and
- prize fulfilment.
Subject to these Terms & Conditions and applicable law, decisions of the judging panel and Promoter relating to administration of the Competition are final.
Nothing in this section prevents an entrant from raising a complaint or exercising any rights available to them under applicable law.
25. Governing Law
The Competition and these Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, provided that nothing in these Terms & Conditions deprives entrants living in Scotland or Northern Ireland of any mandatory rights or protections available to them under applicable law.
