This year saw another successful number of entries to the Guild of Food Writers Write It competition in partnership with Pink Lady® apples. The competition encourages young people to showcase their food writing for a chance to be judged by some famous foodies and win fantastic prizes.

The competition received a high number of entries once more from the nation’s young foodie superstars, who were separated into three age categories (10 and under, 11 to 14 and 15 to 18).

Following their creative and outstanding writing performance for this year’s ‘Celebration’ theme, overall winners Monica Alcover (10 years and under), Sohan Desai (11-14 years) and Christiane Hitchcock (15-18 years) were awarded prizes which included money-can’t-buy editorial experiences with First News and delicious. Magazine. All entries were judged by a panel of well-respected foodie judges, including Rick Stein CBE and Stefan Gates of CBBC’s Disaster Chefs.

A huge round of applause for our winners and all of the other young people who entered the competition with their fantastic stories around food celebration!
