Vitamin C, known also as ascorbic acid, is a powerful antioxidant. It is an essential vitamin that is quickly lost from your body making daily intake a necessity.
It is used to create collagen in the body, a protein that makes the skin, joints and bones strong and also plays a role in healing wounds within the body. The body utilizes vitamin C in the immune system by maintaining activity of the white blood cells. So, make sure you get that daily Vitamin C intake!
Pink Lady® apples were the official apple for the London Marathon for the fifth year. Among the runners we spotted two rhinos, Tigger, Buzz Lightyear and, of course, our very own Pink Lady® apple! Every runner received a little pink gem in their post-run goody bag to help revitalise them at the end of the journey. A huge well done to all those that took part.
Pink Lady® apples are a natural source of energy and packed with vitamin C. A single apple supplies a quarter of your day's vitamin C. Almost half of the Vitamin C content of an apple lies directly under its skin so it’s can be more beneficial not to peel your apples.
As well as Vitamin C, you’ll find boron to keep your bones strong and pectin, which helps your body digest food more efficiently.
