Third time's a charm for Pink Lady® marathon runner
Completing a marathon dressed as a Pink Lady® apple is a challenge that most people would only take on once in a lifetime, but this year Jon Goodege returns to run the London Marathon on our behalf for the third time.
As no stranger to long distance running Jon is raring to go and can’t wait to take part in the marathon again on 24th April. He says “I love the event, I love the crowd response to the apple costume, and overall it’s just an amazing day! I would love to complete five London Marathons in a row”.
Jon has previously raised money for Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust as well as the Stroke Association and is excited to be fundraising again. “Running in the Pink Lady® costume is simply amazing. The amount of people who shout ‘go Pink Lady® Jon!’ is unbelievable and it’s great high five-ing all the kids along the way.”
“My training is currently going really well and I’m hoping to stay injury-free once again. Back in July 2015 I completed Ironman UK which acted as my foundation running training for this year. The first year I completed the marathon in five hours flat, last year was 4 hours 37 minutes and this year I’m aiming for 3 hours 59 mins and 59 seconds”
With such a positive attitude and an impressive track record we’re sure Jon will complete the marathon with ease! If you’d like to support him on Twitter you can find him here and you can also find his Just Giving account here.
