Pink Lady® Calls The Shots At Great Ormond Street Hospital
Posted: 27 October 2011

Pink Lady® has taken another step in its charity partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity by hosting a food photography day for patients and their siblings at the hospital’s onsite school this half term.
A day of photography workshops with one of the UK’s top food photographers, Maja Smend, offered 50 children aged between 8 and 15 years a chance to learn how to take food photographs as well as the opportunity to enter the inaugural Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2012. In addition, Pink Lady® has donated a collection of bright pink digital cameras to the charity to enable the children to continue with their new-found hobby.
Launched in August this year, the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year aims to capture the best of the varied world of food. Offered internationally to professionals and amateurs alike, entries will be judged in March 2012 by an expert panel.
In further support of the charity, one of the nine categories is ‘Apple a Day’ which is dedicated to raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. It showcases the most creative, inventive and beautiful images of an apple with £2 from each entry fee being donated to the charity.
